The interviewers have a scorecard to rank you! Your challenge is to keep them on the scorecard and interested in you during the interview! If they lose interest, you can forget about a good score.

Practice out loud the words and phrases you use to answer questions. Practice your elevator speech.

Have a great answer to the question why you?

Have questions for them that relate back to the job and help you to sell yourself. Don't waste time on questions that could be answered with a little research. Your questions should help show your personality. Give them a vision for working with you!

Kristen was hired and let go a hired again in six months so she has fresh insights on the interviewing process!

Think through how to communicate about your work experience and make sure it sets you up for success. It is one thing to see your resume and all your accomplishments but it is another thing to be able to handle objections that arise from it. So practice with another person before the interview and make sure you can sell yourself from the resume.

Most interviews now will be virtual so remember all the interviewer has is your resume. So be prepared to answer the question, "tell us about yourself". Bottom line make sure you can focus on your strengths and keep it simple!

Fred shares some tips after landing his first medical sales job!

Make sure you close out the interview. No matter how good you think you are doing, you must learn to effectively close the interview. A practical suggestion is to start showing some leadership during the interview and that will help you lead it to a successful close. If you are a little nervous then keep it very simple.

One example of a simple but effective close is to ask about the next step in the process! Learn about what they want in a good candidate and ask them to consider you!

Another tactic that will set you apart is to get other reps on the phone and learn about their day to day duties.

Listen as Fred shares some awesome ideas to help you! For more help go to my website: gethiredinmedicalsales.com

Fred shares some golden advice for those who want to break into medical sales.

Most interviews that you will get will be through networking. Most jobs you will get are through the people you know or meet along the way! Let me say it again, "networking is the key to you getting hired!"

When you have an interview expect to close and ask for the next step in the hiring process. It should be obvious by now, if you have listened to this show, if you don't close in a competitive sales job you won't get hired.

Don't make it complicated simply ask if they will move you along on the hiring process.

I would love to help you with this stuff so let's talk. gethiredinmedicalsales.com

The process that I have shared and used to coach others works if you keep doing it and don't quit.

The secret managers want to see is your ability to hustle! Yep along with all the interview training and preparation being able to hustle is a huge key! The problem is that some may a lot have it but only demonstrate a small amount of it!

The manager wants to visualize you on the job having to spin a lot of plates but the only evidence they have is what show them by your actions. For example they might want to know if you are interviewing with anyone else? This shows them you are either hustling or waiting around for something to happen.

Do it for your success in interviewing and to get a fast start on the job as my guest did!

The best way to turn the tables in an interview is ask good open ended questions. One thing I tell people is that you are interviewing them as well! So go ahead and think of about what you want to learn and then what questions you need to ask.

Good open ended questions will also help you lead the discussion. As in sales you have a strategy and a goal to accomplish but you need information to do your job!  All of us want to be part of the discussion so your good questions will help bring everyone together.

In other words to crush the interview you have to find out what is important and demonstrate you can do it!

This is such an individual decision to spend thousands of dollars on more education and training to move into a high paying career.

The material is very helpful but is it what you personally need to take the next step in getting hired?

The technical and scientific material appeals to some and the career development maybe more to others.

My focus is on helping you go out and find interviews and to train you to close out the interview.  I believe the most important thing these hiring managers want is for you to demonstrate your sales skills during the whole interview process!

If you would like some help please reach out to me through LinkedIn or send me an email at mhayes0429@gmail.com

Steal these words for your next interview! "What do you like most about my resume?" Then help them by highlighting your big accomplishments!

The big goal is to sell yourself in the actual interview and not get distracted with being an expert on the product. They can teach about the product but your job is to show up and demonstrate your ability to hustle! Yes, if they don't like you they will never call you back. It is a sales job! They want to see how you handle rejection and fight back and capture the moment. Hint, can you be persuasive under pressure and not alienate others?

Feb 14, 2021

Start with your "story" not only for your own motivation but how you come across in a meeting.

Having trouble getting interviews? Work on meeting people and becoming friends with other reps.

Need some great questions to set you up as the leader in the interview? Use Jason's words and begin to practice in your own words so you can win!

I offer coaching to help you go through three steps to get hired. If you want help with discovering your story and selling yourself, finding interviews and crushing the interview please reach out to me on LinkedIn or go to my website: gethiredinmedicalsales.com
